From the beginning of what is now the Town of Hideout Utah, I've had a love for the land it sits upon, its setting, its beauty, its views and what it one day would become for all of us, home.  During some of the most trying economic times this Country has faced, Wasatch County has faced, this Town and the Development of Hideout Canyon has faced I did not and have not retreated from the vision or concern for what Hideout Canyon is and will be.  As a resident of Hideout I have history that is unique to any others who now call Hideout home.  I was here, alone, in the beginning and am uniquely qualified and committed to the Town's success for all of us.  I am the primary candidate running for Town Council that has the understanding, background and experience of what the required role of a Town Council member is.  With this in mind I will attempt to explain and clarify the misconception about a meeting that takes place once a month.

The Council meeting takes place once a month for approximately an hour, on average. This meeting represents only a portion of what Council members do.  A Council member meets to discuss potential and current projects with the planning commission, meets with the Town engineer, meets as needed with the Town legal counsel, meets with residents and land owners, reviews and is familiar with Town codes and laws.  They need also be versed in budgeting and financial forecasting, all of these activities in preparation for reviewing complex issues discussed at the Town Council meetings so that best decisions are made.  My opponent has not been involved with these activities yet feels knowledgeable enough to motion and vote on critical issues without understanding completely what is being discussed and what the short and long term ramifications are of Council decisions.

Outside and addition to Council meetings I have met with surrounding mayors, surrounding school boards, Park City school representatives, Park City IHC hospital executives, service  providers, engineers, transportation directions, school administrators, State organizations, and citizens of our community on behalf of the Town of Hideout. I have physically pitched in and helped with snow removal, flood cleanup, and even, yes, picked up garbage. This is what the role of Council members and mayor are and what you should expect, not just a one hour meeting once a month.  I have donated 100s of hours of my time through volunteering in these areas and have been happy to do so.  Many don't understand the activities listed above are only some of what is required to serve on the Council, and have done little beyond attending the once a month meetings.

  • Making the Town an exceptional place FOR EVERYONE, better than it was yesterday, is what I have done, will continue to do, and is what you should expect.

I have known Bob Martino for over ten years. We purchased our home-site in Glistening Ridge in 2006 due, in large part, to Bob's meticulous attention to detail in the original layout of Hideout Canyon. A few things have had to be changed or modified over the years but through the difficult times of the economic downturn, Bob never lost his vision for Hideout. He never considered walking away or surrendering to those who would have had him lower his standards of quality to "survive" in an almost impossible real estate market. Bob is a man of great integrity and we have all benefited immensely from his steadfast commitment to making Hideout Canyon a community of excellence in the Wasatch! Bob has shared that he has much left to accomplish in Hideout. Let's continue his vision by electing him to City Council in the upcoming election.

Support Bob Martino Hideout Town Council

Dear Hideout residents,

I urge you to support Bob Martino fro Hideout Town Council.  Mayor Martino has spent many hours helping the Todd Hollow community including going door to door with me to gather information and data in an effort to have Park City Municipal buss pick-up at Todd Hollow.  He also set up and delivered meetings with Mayor Dana Williams and others.  Bob has been very helpful in improving the lives of others and is generous with his time.

Please vote for Bob Martino

Sincerely

Rita Smith

I have known Bob for over 4 years. He is a very passionate man who has devoted considerable time to creating Hideout. No single person understands Hideout from a local, county and state perspective as he does. Not having Bob on the next Council will only result in a Council that will lack the tools to move forward and potentially have the town incur large legal costs.

Since moving from Park City to Hideout I have gotten to know Bob and his family. He has put in countless hours outside of his financial and mayoral responsibilities to ensure that our town is not only a beautiful place to live but that our investment in our homes continues to grow.
